YouVersion is showcasing a week of the devotions for moms at https://www.bible.com/reading-plans/45835-growing-a-mothers-heart
In that book I changed names of some of the people involved for privacy, but the first one Little Dents is about me and my oldest daughter. That's a treasured memory. As moms we have those special moments we recall I still have the vase from the story and looking at it brings a smile still. This is a book that evokes memories in moms as they recall similar moments and struggles of their own. It's part of that mom-bond we share. Our stories connect because we have similar experiences. It's a book for which you can journal about your own memories for your children to read at some point.
Growing a Joyful Heart, co-authored with Pam Farrel, will be on sale for 99 cents on the same days, May 8-12, because it makes another great gift for moms, although it's great for anyone who wants more real joy in life.
In the JOY book, Pam and I, plus some friends, share how we live a joyful life with choosing joy in all circumstances (hurricanes, financial woes, health issues, loss, and more that led to unexpected blessings. God can and ode turn our sorrows to joys.
So much more in the books! People of history and their stories, one weekly
Moms like
Hoelun, Kublai Kahn's mother who pressed him to be the first leader in Asia to accept freedom of religion (and what struggles she had that built his strength)
Nancy Edison, mother of inventor Thomas Edison who refused to listen to teachers saying he was unteachable and would never read, and he said she was the making of him.
Sojourner Truth who escaped slavery and helped others while raising her children.
Historic people of JOY
Medieval monks adding art to margins to share joy, jokes, and even complaints that lightened their days. Such early doodlers!
Pam’s story of starting book, going into a coma, healing, and finishing the book
la Sagrada Familia church (Barcelona, Spain) architect and sculptor Antoni Gaudi who's vision transformed it into a celebration of the joy of creation and art.
Lois Braille and Fanny Crosby who chose not to wallow in pity but to choose joy and gift the world a way for the blind to read and songs of praise.
Plus the joy of people in the Bible who overcame struggles too! View their stories in a new light!
